El reparto está en el propio libro — Muldoon pone la casuística en primera persona y Carrington el aparato psíquico, con su lista de obras previas en la misma portada. A diferencia de Monroe, que cuarenta años después declina el término, Muldoon usa «astral» sin reservas y construye sobre él un vocabulario técnico: el cable astral, el cord-activity range, la catalepsia astral y el sonambulismo astral.
