Su autor firma como «late Minbir f a CONSTITUTED LODGE» y refrenda el texto con juramento notarial: «Samuel Prichard maketh Oath, That the Copy hereunto an-nexed is’a’ True and Ge Copy in every Particular» «Prichard — Masonry Dissected (Londres, 1730) · pp. 1, 2».
La obra tiene tres cuerpos y no se leen igual. El primero es un relato del origen del oficio, que lo hace descender de la Torre de Babel por Euclides, Hiram y Maunon Grecus «Prichard — Masonry Dissected (Londres, 1730) · p. 5».
