Boehme was not thinking only of spiritual need when he wrote that, “My writings do not serve for the full belly, but for a hungry stomach» — el dato biográfico con que Weeks la apoya: que en ese periodo el autor ganara conciencia aguda del hambre, y que no pensaba solo en necesidad espiritual al escribir que sus escritos no sirven para el vientre lleno sino para el estómago hambriento.

Well-fed modern people know that it is illusory. «The second, which bears the number 72 in Buddecke’s registry, is also found in the University Library of Wrocław with the catalog number AKC. 1975/271. It is a collection that contains three writings by Boehme (Gründlicher Bericht, Vierzig Fragen von der Seele, and Von dem Dreyfachen Leben des Menschen—the latter bears the number 66 in Buddecke’s registry), as well as an illustration representing “The Philosophical Sphere.” The copies were written by a scribe of Abraham von Sommerfeld, possibly at the end of the third decade of the seventeenth century. A note at the end of Vierzig Fragen reads as follows: “Dieses Theÿl ist mit Göttlicher verleihung Anno 1629.Zumdrittenmallnachgeschrieben”(Withdivineconferralthispartwas copied in 1629 for the third time). The copy is written in black and red ink. It is about 30.5 by 20.5cm. and 330 pages in length. Imaginación (phantasia) — La imaginación es el mecanismo por el que la voluntad se hace sustancia: el ansia atrae mágicamente, contrae su codicia y se impregna a sí misma de un espíritu sin ser; el espejo que cada esencia labra para reconocerse se mete en la imaginación y al romperse produce la turba; y el origen de todas las cosas malas y buenas se pone en el poder de un imaginar dentro del gran misterio. Weeks cuenta siete apariciones de *imagination* en el escrito y señala que la fe no se nombra.

Quintaesencia (quinta essentia) — El blanco no cuenta entre los cuatro colores del misterio de la naturaleza: pertenece a Dios, tiene su destello en la naturaleza y es la quinta esencia, un niño puro y sin mancha contemplable en oro y plata y en cualquier piedra clara que resista el fuego, porque el fuego prueba todos los colores y en él solo prevalece el blanco.
