El método que el libro expone es un relato de taller: tierra recogida en un momento astrológico fijado con la carta natal del operador, alimentada durante años con plantas jóvenes y con rocío recogido antes del alba, secada por debajo de los 40 °C hasta el *Absolute Black*, incinerada para dar la Levadura Mayor y usada después para abrir el oro y otros metales hasta obtener un licor del color del oro que el análisis espectral declara sin oro. Sobre esa práctica corre en paralelo una astrología aplicada, y el libro pide para leerla un cambio de punto de vista: adoptar el de Ptolomeo y su sistema geocéntrico, que juzgaba los fenómenos por como se aparecen «Gold of a Thousand Mornings — Armand Barbault (traducción inglesa de Neville Spearman) · p. 16».

León verde (leo viridis) — La Sangre del León Verde es el jugo decantado de plantas recogidas antes del alba, y el único alimento de la materia en la obra de segundo orden; el León Rojo queda para la medicina de segundo orden.
Mercurio de los filósofos (Mercurius) — Los cristales estelares sobre la masa negra anuncian, según el volumen, la aparición inminente del verdadero mercurio de los filósofos.
Piedra filosofal (lapis philosophorum) — Nombrada una sola vez, y para deslindarse: la Primera Materia de este trabajo no es la que los alquimistas eligen para la Piedra.
Putrefacción (putrefactio) — La sal se extrae del cuerpo llevado antes a putrefacción, según la cita de Basilio Valentín; el volumen la sitúa entre Escorpio y Sagitario.

Cuatro elementos (fuego, aire, agua, tierra) — Las estaciones y los doce signos se reparten entre Fuego, Tierra, Agua y Aire, y el volumen atribuye a Pitágoras la naturaleza triple de los cuatro.
Atanor (el horno de fuego constante) — El horno del alquimista que calienta el recipiente de vidrio en la segunda lámina del Mutus Liber, que el troceo imprime «athenor».
Círculo mágico (circulus) — Dos círculos mágicos intensificados y un tercero trazado donde se detectó corriente vitalizante, en la preparación de la extracción.
